    What Windows will say, and what to do if the download disappears

    Expect a warning the first time you run it. Windows decides how much to trust an installer by how many people have already downloaded it, and every new release starts from zero. Nothing has been detected in the app. It is a file Windows has not seen before. This installer is signed, so the warning names Frequency Talk Technologies LLC as the publisher rather than “Unknown publisher.” Choose More info, then Run anyway.

    If the download never lands, take the ZIP. Windows can also remove a new installer while it is still downloading. When that happens the file never reaches your Downloads folder at all, so there is nothing to open and nothing on screen to explain it. ZIP → above holds the same signed installer and comes down intact. Unzip it and run the installer as usual.

    You will still see the warning above when you run it: the ZIP is a second way in, not a way around the warning. Both links stay here until the build has enough downloads behind it for Windows to stop asking.

    How to install it on Arch, SteamOS, and Hyprland

    The quickest way is the terminal command below this note. It installs the app into the Applications folder in your home folder and adds it, with its icon, to your applications menu. It does not need sudo, and it updates itself from then on.

    Or download it yourself with the button above, make it runnable, and open it:

    The first time it opens from your Downloads folder, it offers to install itself. Choose Install and it moves to the same place and joins your applications menu.

    Arch Linux: AppImages need FUSE 2. If it does not open, install it with sudo pacman -S fuse2 and try again.

    SteamOS: switch to Desktop Mode, download it with the browser there, then right-click the file, choose Properties, turn on Is executable under Permissions, and open it. If it still will not open, run it from Konsole with ./FrequencyTalkTechnologies.ServiceManager.AppImage --appimage-extract-and-run, which does not need FUSE.

    Hyprland and Omarchy: it runs natively on Wayland. When you share your screen, your desktop asks which screen or window to show. That question comes from xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland, so if sharing does nothing, install it with sudo pacman -S xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland and sign out and back in. Letting someone else control your screen does not work on a Wayland desktop yet. On an X11 desktop (SteamOS Desktop Mode usually is one), remote control works as it does on Windows and macOS.
